As we bring the curtain down on 2021 and welcome the first days of 2022, it is a good idea to look back not at the hardships and challenges that we have all had to face, but instead let’s focus on all the wonderful things that have coloured the last 12 months with joy.
For our alumni, in particular those who graduated recently, completing their respective programmes would surely be one of the best highlights of the year. This special issue of Contact is specially dedicated to more than 4,300 of our graduates from Cohort 25, and we are pleased to share the stories of five of these amazing individuals.
Let us cap the year with the words of Henry David Thoreau, who said, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” We hope you will enjoy this issue and have a wonderful start to 2022.
Life’s twists and turns often catch us by surprise. Who would have guessed that I would discover a new side to myself well into my golden years?
Looking back at the last 15 years or so of my life, I can definitely say that I’ve been through a lot.
My parents’ wishes have always been on my mind: with seven children to provide for, commitments were aplenty and they never had a chance to study at university level.
